COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) — After this past election, some new faces are joining the Richland County Council.
Thursday afternoon, six members were sworn in at a ceremony at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.
One of those was Derrek Pugh, who was re-elected to another four-year term.
Voters also re-elected Jesica Mackey in District 9.
Another re-elected council member, Cheryl English, also spoke highly about her district’s economic development.
The ceremonial swearing in also included two new faces. Tyra Little replaces Yvonne McBride in District 3.
In District 8, state senator Overture Walker is succeeded by Tish Dozier Alleyne.
