Hickory Police charge 2 people with attempted murder in New Year’s Day shooting

HICKORY, N.C. – Hickory Police have made a second arrest in a New Year’s Day shooting that seriously injured one person. 31-year-old Patsy Elaine Humphries of Lenoir is now charged with attempted first degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. Police also arrested Javier Trevino Jr., of Lenoir in connection to the shooting. He faces two counts of attempted first degree murder and one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
The shooting happened at 2nd Street Northwest and Main Avenue Northwest. Jordan Ramey of Yadkinville is the shooting victim. He was found near the sidewalk of the intersection. Ramey was taken to Frye Regional Medical Center and was later moved to Wake Forest Baptist Medical center in Winston-Salem. He is in stable condition.
Police say the suspects were engaged in an incident with another group nearby, when they fired shots and hit Ramey.
