Crews respond to fire in French Quarter

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Crews with the New Orleans Fire Department responded to a two-alarm fire in the French Quarter on Thursday, Jan. 2.
The NOFD reported that firefighters responded to an apartment building in the 1200 block of Chartres Street around 2:22 p.m., where they found smoke and flames from the second floor breaching the roof.

NOFD crews got the fire under control around 3:08 p.m., and the fire was contained within the building it started in.

NOFD officials said 18 fire trucks carrying 47 firefighters were used to extinguish the blaze.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, and no injuries were reported.
