Owl rescued on New Year's Eve in Williamsburg after being struck by vehicle

WILLIAMSBURG, Mass. (WWLP) - A barred owl was rescued after being struck by a vehicle on New Year's Eve in Williamsburg.

The Williamsburg Police and Fire Department stated that a resident brought an injured owl to the Public Safety Complex after it appeared to have been struck by a vehicle on Route 143.

The owl was taken to a local veterinary clinic and is expected to make a full recovery.
Barred owls can be found in most of Massachusetts other than the islands, and can be heard calling year-round, according to the Mass Audubon.
