BARNSTABLE, Mass. (WLNE) — Police arrested a man Tuesday for allegedly firing a high-powered airgun at tree workers, according to the Barnstable Police Department. Kyle Stacey, 34, of Marstsons Mills, is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, vandalism and resisting arrest. Police responded Tuesday morning to reports of a bullet hole in home’s window in the area of Tanbark Road in Marstons Mills. 30 minutes after police left the scene, a 911 call was placed saying an individual was shooting what appeared to be a rifle at tree workers on Tanbark Road. Contact was made with Stacey, who reportedly retreated into his residence and was identified as the individual shooting at the tree workers. The Cape Cod Regional SWAT Team, Barnstable Police K-9 Unit and the Barnstable police detective unit were all called to the scene Stacey did not comply with requests to exit the home, according to police. He eventually surrendered to authorities and was arrested. Police executed a search warrant on the home and discovered multiple .30 caliber projectiles and several airguns. Among these weapons was a Vulcan 3 .30 caliber airgun, which can fire lead projectiles up to 1,000 feet per second. Stacey was ordered held on $15,000 cash bail and was due to appear in court Thursday. Categories: Massachusetts, News
