EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- Two people were stabbed after a verbal altercation on New Year's Day at a residence in Northeast El Paso, El Paso Police Detective Judy Oviedo said. Photos by Edith Montero and Shaun Felice - KTSM Oviedo said a stabbing call came in at 9:38 p.m. on New Year’s Day at the 10300 block of Hollyhock Drive. A 39-year-old woman and a young man were stabbed after a verbal altercation occurred, Oviedo said. Both individuals appeared to be related. El Paso Animal Services was also at the scene, due to the welfare of an animal that was at the residence. Oviedo said both individuals were transported but the severity of their injuries is currently unknown. Oviedo said the incident was isolated and the investigation could take up to several hours. Oviedo did not say if any arrests have been made.
