Warming trend cut short by upcoming cold front
Jan 02, 2025
AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Our warming trend kicks in today and continues through the upcoming weekend... but don't get too comfortable.
Clouds will try to give way to sunshine this afternoon, starting in the Hill Country and attempting to reach the Austin-metro later today. Temperatures will reach the low to mid-60s for most, but will be warmer in the Hill Country where sunshine develops earliest.
Clouds will fill back in tonight into tomorrow morning with lows in the upper 40s. Our Friday will feature a blend of sunshine and clouds with temperatures warming to the upper 60s.
This weekend will continue the warming trend with low 70s Saturday and mid-70s on Sunday.
Late Sunday cold front
Later in the day on Sunday brings a strong cold front that will usher in the coldest air since last winter. Read the latest outlook on that in the link below.
