Extensive delays were expected after a Metra train struck a person Thursday morning near North Chicago. The person — only identified as a male — was fatally struck by inbound Union Pacific North train #322 around 8:40 a.m., said a Metra spokesperson. The crash happened near the border of North Chicago and Waukegan, the spokesperson said.
