SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Two hospitals helped welcome the first babies of the year in Sioux Falls.
The first babies born this year at Sanford Health are twins, Archer and Ariyah.

"It's definitely exciting," Archer and Ariyah's mom Shasta Weston said. "We've kind of been joking this whole time that they're, they like to be the center of attention."
Archer and Ariyah aren't the first kids for parents Kelsey and Shasta Weston, but they are their very first set of twins.
"We were hoping that if they came on New Year's, that we wouldn't have one come like the 31st and one come the first, because that would be a little bit weird and confusing. So, we're glad that they held off until New Year's Day," Archer and Ariyah's mom Kelsey Weston said.
The two arrived less than an hour after the new year began. The Westons said the twins are the perfect complement to their family.
"We've got lots of kids at home ready to help out, and they're all excited to come see them and get them home to help out," Kelsey said. "So, they've been getting the room all ready for them and everything while I've been here."
Just a few blocks away at Avera McKennan Hospital, baby Blair also made her holiday arrival early New Year's Day morning.
"We were actually hosting a party for our friends, and I went to move a plant from our bedroom to our living room, and my water broke. So we had to cancel our plans and put the food back in the fridge and head to Sioux Falls," Blair's mom Rachel Ireland said.
The sudden surprise that Blair would be arriving soon was exciting and shocking, but her parents say they've been well taken care of.
"I was pretty surprised that all the nurses were great and everything just went well. I'm so happy about that," Blair's dad Seth Olson said.
"It's very special. It's really a fun birthday," Rachel said. "This is our first baby, so it's very, very special."
All three babies, along with their parents, are doing well.
