BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating a shooting on New Year's Day that left one man dead. According to the police, around 3:20 p.m., detectives were responding to a reported shooting in the 5400 block of Longfellow Drive. Upon arrival, detectives found a man with multiple gunshot wounds. The man was later identified as Terry Wayne Jones, 35. Jones died of his injuries at the scene, police said. Anyone with information about this shooting is asked to contact the BRPD Violent Crimes Unit at 225-389-4869 or Crime Stoppers at 225-344-7867 (STOP). No further details were released at this time.
