BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A barbecue fundraiser in remembrance of former deputy Phillip Campas is scheduled for late January. Phillip Campas is remembered by many in Kern County. The community will gather at Salty's BBQ for the third annual fundraiser that supports youth leadership and Phillip Campas Scholarships. The event will take place at Salty's BBQ banquet room located at 6720 Schirra Court on Jan. 23 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Remembering KCSO Deputy Phillip Campas The fundraiser will be held on Phillip's birthday. Organizers say it is a drive-up event only and the pre-sale price of a ticket is $25. Dinner includes tri-tip, chicken, chili beans, salad and a bread roll.
