Parents die, children hospitalized after singlevehicle rollover crash on US 36

DENVER (KDVR) — Two people died in a single-vehicle rollover crash Wednesday morning, the Colorado State Patrol reported in a press release.
At 9:46 a.m. troopers responded to a crash on U.S. 36 near Lefthand Canyon Drive.

Troopers said that a Jeep traveling north drove through the center grass median. The car rolled over and ended up in the southbound lanes of U.S. 36.
Two adults, the driver and a passenger died on the scene. Two other passengers aged 11 and 16 were transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries.
Colorado State Patrol confirmed the adults who died were the parents of the children.
The highway was closed in both directions between Nelson Road and Neva Road. As of 2:40 p.m., northbound lanes are open again, but southbound was still closed at Lefthand Canyon Drive.
Investigators remain on the scene in the area.
