UCHealth welcomes its first babies born in 2025

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — UCHealth Memorial Hospital Central welcomed its first baby born in the new year to parents traveling through Colorado Springs on their way to Denver.
According to UCHealth, on Wednesday, Jan. 1 at 1:06 a.m. a baby girl, Arizeth Aguinaga, was born. Arizeth weighed six pounds, five ounces.
Her parents Jennifer Hiracheta and Sergio Aguinaga are from Texas, and they along with Sergio's parents were traveling to Denver for a planned vacation when Jennifer unexpectedly went into labor while passing through Colorado Springs.

Meanwhile, in Pueblo at UCHealth Parkview Medical Center, a girl, Kehlani Villarreal was born to parents Erica Soto Sanchez and Carlos Villarreal of Pueblo at 5:03 a.m. weighing four pounds, 11 ounces.

UCHealth said in 2024, between UCHealth Memorial Hospital Central and UCHealth Memorial Hospital North in Colorado Springs, more than 5,200 babies were born, breaking a record set in 2022 of 5,030 babies born at the two hospitals.
In Pueblo, at UCHealth Parkview Medical Center, there were 1,666 babies born.
