The Detroit Lions revealed which uniforms they’ll be wearing for their regular season finale against the Minnesota Vikings. Despite earlier reports that the Detroit Lions would sport their throwback jerseys in their regular season finale against the Minnesota Vikings, it appears they’re going with a more modern look. Late on Tuesday night, the Lions Twitter account tweeted out a message that not-so-subtly suggested they are going with their all-black uniforms for Week 18.

Without a doubt, the Lions’ black uniforms are the most popular style of their new designs that were released earlier in 2024. This year, they have donned the uniforms in some of their biggest games. They wore them for the “Monday Night Football” contest against the Seattle Seahawks (they won 42-29), and they also wore them for the premier matchup against the Buffalo Bills in Week 15 (a 48-42 loss).
But neither of those games were as big as this one. The Lions will face the Vikings on “Sunday Night Football” in what is not only the final NFL game of the regular season, but the winner of the contest will also win the NFC North, assume the top seed in the conference, and earn a first-round bye for the playoffs.
“This is what you’re in it for, man,” coach Dan Campbell said about the Week 18 showdown. “Ultimately, this is it. You couldn’t write a better scenario. You couldn’t come up with this. The fact that both teams are sitting at 14-2, and it’s for the division and one seed. It just doesn’t get any better than this. This is fairy tale stuff.”
Hopefully the uniforms give the Lions a little extra juice against their divisional rivals.
