PEABODY, Mass. (WWLP) - Out in Peabody, an accident marred one New Year's celebration, leaving 10 hurt.  Northampton hosts 40th annual First Night celebration A large building block display fell onto spectators at a children's "Noon Year's Eve" event when a balloon drop went awry, according to NBC Boston. All 10 of the injuries were minor, but eight people were taken to local hospitals. The Peabody Fire Department states that four adults and six kids were injured. The collapse happened while employees at the arcade were trying to conduct a balloon drop at noon. It then knocked over a large building block display, which fell about 12 feet onto people.
