No trash pickups on New Year's Day in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A reminder for people in Springfield, there will be no trash or recycling pickup for Wednesday.

Those who are normally scheduled for pickups on Wednesday will have to wait until Saturday, January 4th.
If you are trying to get rid of your Christmas tree, the DPW will start collecting them from January 7th through the 31st on your scheduled recycling day. Do not have Christmas trees wrapped in plastic or covered in snow.
They also remind residents to have their items on the curb by 6:00 a.m. for their pickup days.
