'Noon Year's Eve' at Seneca Park Zoo

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The Seneca Park Zoo ensured everyone could get in on New Year's Eve festivities Tuesday afternoon. Officials hosted a "Noon Year's Eve" celebration for folks unable to stay up for the midnight show.

There were festivities all throughout the zoo, New Year's decorations and even ball drops at the Snow Leopard and Elephant habitats.

Zookeepers told News 8 these events not only offer enrichment for the animals, but a chance to connect with the community as well.

"They are able to come to the zoo and not only celebrate the holidays with us, but they're able to learn about the natural world, learn about ways they can grow up to conserve it themselves and really feel a part of nature and the Earth," said Kimberly Bracken, a naturalist coordinator.
