VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — From resolutions ...
"To spread more love spread more positivity as well as be able to have healthy habits," said one Hampton Roads resident.
To grand celebrations ...
"Times Square doesn't have anything over on Virginia Beach, they have a beautiful ball that drops, we have a beach ball," said Jeanne Evans-Cox, executive director of the Central Business District Association and producer/founder Last Night on the town.
Residents from near and far are preparing to step into 2025, some with major goals.
"I'd really like the opportunity to give back more this year," one resident said.
The New Year's Eve event is always a hit for Virginia Beach and its surrounding neighbors.
"It's important to the economic stability of Virginia Beach as a whole, this event is actually sponsored by the City of Virginia Beach and all the businesses here at Town Center pay for this and it's important that it's successful and that it's fun and family friendly," Evans-Cox said.
Bringing in lots of foot traffic and visitors like one self-proclaimed Hunter Hayes superfan who traveled all the way from Florida this holiday. Hayes is headlining the show this year.
"So I think this will be a amazing experience to ring in the new year with my favorite songs," said visitor Giovanna Sutkiewicz. "Hunter is amazing live, and I've seen him in all kinds of cities, and this is my first time seeing him in Virginia Beach. I've never been here before."
The wish is for everyone across Hampton Roads to be safe and set the tone for 2025.
"Anything that happens at Town Center is good for the rest of the city," Evans-Cox said.
"Fitting that I would end the year with this it just seems like the perfect thing," Sutkiewicz said.
No matter how you're celebrating, we wish you a very happy and prosperous 2025.
