SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- Another round of dangerous and potentially life-threatening surf is expected to bring breaking waves of up to 20 to 30 feet later this week, according to the National Weather Service. The hazardous beach conditions are expected to arrive late in the week. Bay Area bridge toll rise on 7 bridges to take effect in 2025 High surf, rip currents, sneaker waves and minor coastal flooding are possible for all beaches along the Pacific Coast, the NWS advises. The weather service is advising people to stay out of the water, prepare for coastal flooding and beach erosion in vulnerable areas and to "never turn your back on the ocean." The San Francisco Department of Emergency Management is warning of a high surf advisory in effect through Sunday with breaking waves along the coast and "dangerous conditions." This latest caution from the NWS comes just a week after high waves and pounding surf resulted in the collapse of a portion of the Santa Cruz Wharf into the ocean last Monday.
