Portsmouth Police advise residents to take precautions after several reports of car breakins

PORTSMOUTH, R.I. (WLNE) — The Portsmouth Police Department said it received several reports of car break-ins on Monday.
The break-ins occurred in the area of Hedly Street and Long Meadow Road.
Police advise residents to always lock vehicles, remove valuables, and park in well-lit areas to protect belongings and property.
If suspicious activity is spotted, Portsmouth police ask residents to call its non-emergency line at 401-683-0300, and in the case if an emergency, to call 911.
