SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – 2024 is coming to a close and multiple businesses and restaurants are hosting events to celebrate the new year in Sioux Falls.  Here’s a list of a few: American Legion The South Dakota American Legion Post 15 is hosting a New Year’s Eve party at the El Riad Shrine in Downtown Sioux Falls. The event starts at 6:30 for dinner. The dance goes from 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. with Mogens Heroes performing until 10 p.m. Tickets cost $25, veterans are free.  Icon and Dada Gastropub For the 13th year, Icon Event Hall is throwing their New Year’s Party to celebrate the new year. Doors open at 8 p.m. with the band, “Juliet Hotel” playing at 9 p.m. Tickets are $25 at the door. DaDa Gatropub is also serving a four-course dinner before the event at 6:30 p.m.  Skate City From 9 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., Skate City is hosting an event which includes a balloon drop at midnight, prizes and other giveaways. Tickets are $20.   Otters spotted on the Big Sioux River Good NAtured The non-alcoholic beverage restaurant, Good NAtured, is bringing in the new year with a sparkling apple cider toast on New Year’s Eve. The event starts at 7 p.m. KELOLAND News spoke with the owner about her experience with sobriety and why she opened the location.  South Dakota Urban Indian Health Sobriety Wacipi For the second year in a row, people can attend SDUIH’s sober New Year’s Eve event at the Coliseum in downtown Sioux Falls. The event includes prizes, food, dancers and drums. It is also free to the public.  Lights are off for now at Papa Woody’s, McNally’s Irish Pub Bibisol Bibisol, the new Mexican restaurant in downtown Sioux Falls is putting on a Yucatec-style five-course dinner for New Year’s Eve. The menu includes steak tostada, Sikil Pak and cashew soup, Chicken Pibil, lime ginger palette cleanser and for dessert a pistachio and tres leches cake. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. Seats are $120 a person. Great Bear Great Bear is open until 11:30 p.m. with fireworks on the top of the ski hill at midnight. After 5 p.m. lift tickets and rentals are discounted to $20.
