MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Some people won't be awake at midnight to ring in the new year, especially kids. So, a Noon Year's Eve Celebration allowed families the perfect opportunity to come together to celebrate 2025 with an epic countdown and a twist on annual traditions. "I'm really excited," one child said. New York City has the ball drop but there's a different star of the show in Memphis. "Falling balloons," a child said. MPD prepares for Downtown New Year’s Eve celebration When the clock struck noon, balloons dropped here at Times Square in the Children's Museum of Memphis. Hundreds of families and superheroes gathered for a day of fun to finish the year. Children dressed in a variety of costumes spent the day twirling on the carousel and participating in a scavenger hunt. While the adults made their New Year's resolutions, the kids had a lot to look forward to.
