UPDATE: LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A fatal crash on Iron Works Pike earlier this morning has left one man dead and another person injured, according to authorities. The road remains blocked as police continue their investigation. Officials say the crash occurred when one vehicle veered off the side of the road and then over-corrected, crossing into oncoming traffic and colliding with another vehicle. The impact caused one vehicle to spin completely around, while the other ended up in a ditch. The Fayette County Coroner confirmed that a man died at the scene from blunt force injuries. His name has not yet been released. It was also noted there may have been a medical issue involved. The driver of the second vehicle was taken to the University of Kentucky Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities are urging drivers to avoid the area as the investigation continues.
