(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Kiwanis Club is keeping the Christmas spirit alive even after the holidays, and recently took underserved families to a movie and lunch at Roadhouse Cinema. On Monday, Dec. 30, several local organizations including the Kiwanis Club of Colorado Springs, CASA, and the Salvation Army took several families to watch 'Mufasa,' which is a part of the Lion King franchise. "So these are homeless families that go to the Family Hope Center," said President of the Kiwanis Club of Colorado Springs Richard Couch. "And they struggle to find things to do with their kids. This movie is a really good opportunity for families that have never been able to afford going to a movie theater and seeing a movie to come and see this."  This effort keeps families busy and gives them a bit of normalcy during the holiday break. Those who attended were given free popcorn, a drink, and lunch.
