Williston Economic Development releases endofyear report

WILLISTON, N.D. (KXNET) — Williston Economic Development has just released its 2024 review, where staff members reflected on a year of constant progress and growth for the city.
According to a news release from Williston Economic Development, a large array of new and old undertakings, combined with special events and new faces in their office, have resulted in monumental gains over the past twelve months. Below is a list of notable projects that took place over the previous year, as recorded by Williston Economic Development.
Williston releases New Year’s fireworks guidelines
Education:
Construction of the Williston State College Health Care Training Facility has begun.
Williston State College has announced new 2+2 programs with university partners.
The Williston Basin CTE Center has opened.
Ground has been broken on the construction of Sloulin Elementary School.
Housing:
The city has reportedly pulled a record number of housing permits.
Ground has been broken on the city's first residential housing project in Williston Square.
Area Investment:
Cerilon has advanced the permitting process for the construction of its gas-to-liquids plant.
A proposed data center has received support from the City Commission.
Medical:
Sanford Health has acquired the Great Plains Women's Health Clinic.
CHI St. Alexius has made several changes, including opening renovated operating suites, work on an emergency room expansion, and the first steps of a project to build an inpatient behavioral health wing.
McKenzie Health has opened a clinic in the city's Plainsman Building.
Quality of Life:
Ground has been broken on the construction of Great Northern Events.
Cattails has re-opened under new management.
The Range has moved downtown.
Five new daycares have opened in the city.
Williston State College is nearing completion of its latest turf project.
Business Development/Growth:
The city STAR Fund has invested over $2 million back into Williston through grants and buydown programs, which has aided a total of 78 local groups.
Brew Your Business has highlighted twelve local businesses.
The WED/SBDC Banquet has recognized nine local and regional businesses.
Workforce:
Job Service North Dakota's Williston branch has hosted two job fairs, which resulted in 71 offers.
Williston High School has hosted two career fairs, a National Guard day, and a work-based learning program.
"As the year comes to a close, we reflect on the wins, the challenges, the lessons learned, and the work left to be done – but most of all, on this tremendous community we are privileged to serve," states Williston Economic Development in a press release. "If the activity now is any indication, 2025 is shaping up to be a year of more investment, more construction, and more progress. We are working hard every day to make sure that Williston is where you want to land."
