Silver Airways Declares Bankruptcy, Vows to Continue Service
Dec 31, 2024
On December 30th, Silver Airways voluntarily filed for Chapter 11 protection in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida.
Silver Airways provides service at the Tallahassee International Airport.
The news comes via a post on the company’s website. The “open letter” states “this decision will allow us to secure additional capital and undertake a financial restructuring that will strengthen our position as a competitive airline, ultimately benefiting you—our valued customers.”
The message also states that the company anticipates “completing this process by the first quarter of 2025, emerging stronger and ready to continue serving you with the same dedication we’ve upheld for over 13 years.”
The company informed customers that all tickets remain valid, flights can be booked with Silver Airways through their website or any other channel, and tickets purchased through any other airline or agency will be honored.
In response to the notice, David Pollard, the Director of Aviation for the Tallahassee, said that “we will be monitoring this closely in the weeks ahead.”
