ST. CHARLES PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Officers with the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office are investigating a crash that left a Destrehan bicyclist dead on Monday, Dec. 30. St. Charles Parish deputies reported that the crash happened on Ormond Boulevard around 6 p.m. Ship and tugboat collide near Hale Boggs Bridge in St. Charles Parish They said an initial investigation shows that an SUV was driving south on Ormond Boulevard while a 69-year-old man was riding a bicycle in the bike lane. Deputies said the bike then turned left in front of the SUV, causing it to hit the bicycle. Man fatally shot in Tangipahoa Parish deer hunting incident The bicyclist was taken to a hospital, where he later died. The driver of the SUV is not facing charges.
