RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Two men have been arrested in connection with aggravated assault on multiple inmates at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center, announced Sheriff Leon Lott. On Monday, December 30, around 9:30 a.m. deputies responded to the detention center in relation to reports of an individual being attacked. When deputies arrived, two inmates were receiving medical attention in the medical area of the detention center. After further investigation, RCSD deputies reviewed surveillance footage and determined that 30-year-old inmate Kandre Speaks and 29-year-old inmate Deon McDaniel were suspected of assaulting two other inmates at separate locations in the detention center, said RCSD. Both of the victims were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Speaks, and McDaniel were arrested for aggravated assault on multiple inmates.
