ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WAVY) - The Elizabeth City Police Department responded to an armed robbery at a Dollar General Store Sunday night. According to officials, around 9:40 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Dollar General located in the 1900 block of Weeksville Road for reports of an armed robbery. Officers arrived to the scene and spoke with two employees, who told police that two unidentified Black males entered the business while armed and demanded money. The two suspects left the store after taking an undisclosed amount of money, police said. The first suspect is described as around six-foot tall, wearing a black jacket, black pants and black shoes. The second suspect is also described as around six-feet tall, wearing a black jacket, grey pants and black shoes.
