Heavy police presence shuts down roads in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- Drivers traveling in the Potomac area are encouraged to seek alternative routes due to a heavy police presence early Monday morning.
In a post on X just before 4:30 a.m., the Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD) said several officers were near Potomac Tennis Lane and Falls Road.

MCPD told DC News Now that there is a "person in distress" and officers are working to resolve the situation.
Police said there was no threat to the community.
Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area until the scene is cleared.
