Rain showers, heavy at times, fell across northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio this morning. Over 0.75" of rain has fallen for many, with more on the way this afternoon and evening. Ponding on some roadways has been observed, so drive safe if you spot any on your travels. Although we are in a bit of a break from widespread showers to start the afternoon, a low-pressure system is approaching the area and will provide more chances for rain showers through tonight. We will see more above-average temperatures today as the system passes through. Highs today look to be in the lower 50s for Fort Wayne, with warmer temperatures to the southeast. Rain totals look to accumulate up to an inch of rainfall throughout the day. Higher amounts will be possible in the thunderstorms. There will be the potential for a strong or perhaps severe thunderstorm, mainly in northwest Ohio. The main hazard is damaging winds. However, an isolated, weak, and brief tornado cannot be ruled out, thanks to added wind shear and slight instability in the atmosphere. We will keep you up-to-date with the latest at WANE.
