FORECAST DISCUSSION:
Plenty of rain showers will continue to move through this Sunday morning. The afternoon brings a marginal risk for severe weather to portions of Central Ohio. A few areas east of the city have a chance of experiencing strong winds speeds and even a few rumbles of thunder on Sunday. Highs will return to the low 60s.
By the overnight hours rain showers and wind speeds will begin to calm down. Skies are going to stay mostly cloudy, but more breaks in the clouds are expected by the morning. While temperatures remain well above average, lows will still drop to the low 40s
Monday brings great improvement with clearing skies, calmer winds, and much more sunshine. Colder temperatures begin with highs only reaching the upper 40s. This is still above average, but that is going to change within the expended forecast.
Wrapping up the year there will be one more storm system, though a much weaker one, that will bring another round of rain showers. By the time this system exits on New Year's Day, some of those rain showers are going to turn into a wintry mix. Not a lot of accumulation is expected.
Long term trends will see dropping temperatures across the area. Highs by the upcoming weekend will only reach the mid 20s. Colder than average temperatures will stick around for the majority of the first full week of the year.
