ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Saturday evening marked the fourth night of Hanukkah. Leaders at the Chabad Center led a menorah lighting at Twelve Corners Park. The ceremony featured a raffle, kid's goody bags and traditional Jewish foods including latkes. Leaders said they want the folks who come out and celebrate the holiday to experience a feeling of community and confidence. "I mean, obviously we want more and more people to come but so far so good, it's just been wonderful. I think people are really, really responding to this idea of taking what we have and bringing it to the public, it's an important element of the Hanukkah celebration. Even when we light the menorah at home, we light it at the window or at the door and the idea is, that the lights of the menorah are to be visible outside. So, the idea of publicity is an important element of the holiday and we're here doing publicity to the max, right here in the middle of Twelve Corners," said Rabbi Nechemia Vogel.
