SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- The San Diego International Auto Show kicked off downtown Saturday at the San Diego Convention Center. The show, which takes place daily through New Years Day, is designed for those who love all things automobiles, as it features a variety of the latest new vehicles on the market. Attendees can comparison shop and discover brand new models, including electric vehicles. In fact, an area dubbed Electric Avenue will help drivers learn about the present and future of driving electric. To make the event even more exciting, there are opportunities to test drive vehicles including models of Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Jeep, Kia, Lucid, Ram and Volkswagen. Test drives will operate between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day. Attendees will also be given the chance be among the first to see all-new vehicles just released and those not yet in dealer showrooms, as well as a wide range of automotive products. As described by event organizers, "it’s where the cars are the stars!" The San Diego International Auto Show be held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28 through Tuesday, Dec. 31. On Jan. 1, the hours will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets are available online only. The San Diego Convention Center is located at 111 E Harbor Dr.
