CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A Hanukkah celebration took place in Midlothian this weekend, offering a live menorah lighting, activities for kids and more.
The organization Kehillah -- a Richmond based Jewish community -- hosted the celebration at the Art Factory in Midlothian on Saturday, Dec. 28., featuring a live menorah lighting, jelly donuts, music and free Jewish gifts.
8News spoke with Rabbi Patrick Beaulier -- co-founder of Kehillah -- about the impact of an event like this on the surrounding community.
"So it's those moments where people go, 'I don't know if I should be here, I don't know if I'm allowed to be here,' and we go 'no, no, no, we've been waiting for you this whole time,'" Rabbi Beaulier said.
