BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Unbeaten Bulls. University at Buffalo's women's basketball team improved to 11-0 for the first time in history on Saturday with a dominant 107-59 victory at LeMoyne. "Very excited to have done something that’s never been done at Buffalo before," said coach Becky Burke, in her third season leading the Bulls. "And just really proud of our players, and our staff, and all the work that’s been put in to be 11-0 right now." St. Bonaventure off to best start in 55 years Six players reached double figures as UB had its second-highest scoring total ever against a Division I opponent and notched its ninth victory of the season by double-digit points. In one of the few games UB won by a slim margin, the Bulls set a team record coming back from down 23 points late in the third quarter. "They come every day and do what we ask them to do," Burke said. "And we coach them really hard. Super proud of them putting themselves in position to be in the history books at the University at Buffalo." The Bulls begin Mid-American Conference play hosting Central Michigan at Alumni Arena on New Year's Day, leading the MAC in scoring offense and scoring defense. UB then visits Kent State on Saturday in a game that will be televised on CBS Sports Network. UB was picked to finish third in the preseason MAC coaches poll, one spot behind Kent State. *** Jonah Bronstein joined the WIVB squad in 2022 as a digital sports reporter.
