COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – Ohio State soccer player Nathan Demian was released from the hospital Tuesday. He was shot near the OSU campus on December 8.
Demian made the announcement and shared more about his recovery in an Instagram post on Saturday.
Demian says in the post that he almost died three times and while doctors told him he would eat through a tube and use an ostomy bag for the rest of his life, “God had other plans. On Dec. 24, I was discharged from hospital.”
Columbus police said Demian was shot just before 2:30 a.m. when two vehicles were chasing each other with a person in one vehicle shooting toward the other.
Demian, a bystander, suffered a gunshot wound and was taken to a hospital in serious condition.
Demian concluded the Instagram post by saying, “Thank you God for performing multiple miracles when the odds were heavily stacked against me.”
