Motorcyclist dead after Greece crash

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – One person is dead after a crash involving a motorcycle in Greece Saturday afternoon.
A portion of Long Pond Road was shut down by Greece Police. Reports of a crash in the area of West Ridge Road surfaced just before 2 p.m.

A News 8 photojournalist captured the heavily damaged motorcycle lying in the middle of the intersection as police investigated. A damaged GMC pickup truck was also a few feet away. According to police, the driver of the truck was left uninjured.
The motorcyclist, who was not identified, was taken to the hospital to be treated for serious injuries. The motorcyclist died a short time later.
Long Pond Road was closed from Walker Street to Greece Ridge Center Drive. West Ridge Road was closed eastbound from Long Pond to Mitchell Road. Police said they are still investigating what caused the crash. It remains unclear whether any tickets will be given out.
