Santa Fe man arrested on outstanding attempted murder warrant

SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – A Santa Fe man wanted for attempted murder and aggravated assault is behind bars Saturday. Santa Fe police arrested 29-year-old Juan Uribe-Torres around 5:00 a.m. after an officer recognized his car at the Maverik gas station off Sawmill Road and US Highway 285.

He had outstanding warrants for attempted murder and three counts of aggravated assault in connection to a shooting in early October. The Santa Fe Police Department says Uribe-Torres tried to flee but was later taken into custody. Police also say he has a lengthy criminal history, including breaking and entering and driving while intoxicated.
