NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The Dorchester County Coroner’s Office identified Saturday three people who were shot to death at a Ladson apartment complex. Adrienne Seay, 38, her father, John F. Childs, 68, and her brother, John A. Childs, 36, were found dead inside an apartment on Patriot Boulevard on the evening of December 27. All three will undergo an autopsy at the Medical University of South Carolina. Officers with the North Charleston Police Department responded to a report of shots fired shortly before 5 p.m. Friday and found the three victims. The officers also learned that the suspect, who has not yet been identified, had left the apartment complex while armed and took a 5-year-old child with them. Witnesses provided a description of the vehicle, which officers located at the suspect's residence. "As an officer was checking the vehicle, the suspect exited the house, holding the juvenile," said Harve Jacobs, a spokesman for the North Charleston Police Department. "After placing the juvenile down safely, the suspect fatally shot himself." Jacobs said the incident appeared to be domestic-related. NCPD and the Dorchester County Coroner's Office are investigating.
