Stacy Parina and Chrysa O’Neal didn’t have to go far when they recently relocated their beauty salon. In fact, the new site of Simply Beautiful Boutique Hair and Nails is just 1 1/2 miles north on the same road from where the business previously was based. Simply Beautiful opened its new location on Oct. 7 at 1953 Hubbard Road in Madison Township. The salon is in the same plaza that’s anchored by Madison Family Restaurant. O’Neal said the commercial space that she and Parina have leased provides an ideal atmosphere for operating Simply Beautiful Boutique Hair and Nails. “It feels like we’ve been here for years,” O’Neal said. “It’s comfortable.” Simply Beautiful is a salon that offers services such as haircuts, and hair styling and coloring; manicures, pedicures and other types of nail care and art; and eyelash extensions, fills and tinting. Parina said Simply Beautiful strives to provide clients with the feel of a full-service salon, but in a more personalized suite. Another goal of Simply Beautiful is to fulfill clients’ needs at fair and affordable prices. “Our business model is basically, ‘Champagne tastes on a beer budget,’ ” Parina said. “We don’t feel like somebody walking out with a full head of highlights needs to take out a loan for that.” Stacy Parina works on client Rikki Belcher’s eyelashes during a recent appointment at Simply Beautiful Boutique Hair and Nails in Madison Township. Parina, the salon’s co-owner, is a licensed cosmetologist who is also certified in lash and hair extensions. Simply Beautiful recently moved to a new and larger location at 1953 Hubbard Road in Madison Township. (Bill DeBus – The News-Herald) Parina is a licensed cosmetologist who cuts and styles hair, performs nail services and is certified in lash and hair extensions. O’Neal is a licensed manicurist who provides services related to the care and maintenance of both the hands and feet. O’Neal and Parina initially met when they were employed at an area beauty salon. However, after working there for a while, both women realized that they didn’t like some of the salon’s business practices. “And just like any (employee), you thought that you could always do better, but when you’re in (a situation where you don’t own the business), can you?” Parina said. O’Neal and Parina eventually decided to take charge of how they serve customers by becoming co-owners of their own salon. They established Simply Beautiful Boutique Hair and Nails in October 2023. Parina and O’Neal launched the business by renting space in Beauty Boutique Salon Suites at 2711 Hubbard Road. “We went there with the expectation we were going to be OK by leasing one room,” Parina said. However, Parina and O’Neal soon realized that they would need additional space. “So then we ended up renting two rooms,” Parina said. “And then we said, ‘Oh we may need three rooms,’ because our clientele was growing.” At that point, Parina and O’Neal began looking for a more traditional retail location, where they could be the sole tenant of a larger space to operate their business. O’Neal got a tip about a prospective location  when she was eating breakfast one morning at Madison Family Restaurant. An employee of the restaurant, who gets her nails done by O’Neal, knew that the Simply Beautiful Boutique owners were planning to move their business. “And she asked, ‘How’s the search going?’ ” O’Neal recalled.  “I said, ‘Well we’re still looking, but we think we might have found this one place.’ Then she said that there’s a place open (in the plaza anchored by Madison Family Restaurant). and I said  ‘I wonder if we can look at it?’ ” It so happens that the owner of Madison Family Restaurant and the plaza is Sidorela Stani, who also gets her nails done by O’Neal. After talking with Stani, O’Neal and Parina stopped by the next day and toured the inside of the vacant store at 1953 Hubbard Road. O’Neal said she and Parina decided the rental space had strong potential to become the new location of Simply Beautiful Boutique Hair and Nails. So they signed a lease, and Simply Beautiful has now been functioning at 1953 Hubbard Road for nearly three months. Along with O’Neal and Parina, the staff at Simply Beautiful Boutique Hair and Nails consists of consists hairstylists Taylor Meston and Mandi Mayfield. Meston specializes in men’s haircuts and hair services, Parina said. Parina said it’s a rewarding experience to provide hair, nail and lash services for clients and to see them leave the salon feeling good. “That’s the end goal,” she said. O’Neal said she enjoys performing nail services for clients in Simply Beautiful’s new and larger location. “This is something that we’ve created, and it’s such a comfortable space for everybody,” she said. “It’s great to be able to sit in whatever part of this place and just hear everybody laughing, talking and carrying on their conversations. It’s just one big family.”
