FORECAST: After a morning of light to moderate rainfall, expect a few isolated to scattered showers
Dec 28, 2024
After periods of rain early Saturday, expect a mix of on or off showers, generally isolated or scattered throughout the region. As warm, moist air streams in, temperatures rise from the 50s on Saturday to a pleasant 60s on Sunday. Get ready for a breezy day on Sunday, where the possibility of an afternoon thundershower adds a twist to the mix. The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has placed parts of the area under a marginal risk for severe weather, though the brunt of more intense storms is likely to occur south of I-64 between Richmond and Roanoke. Don't forget to prepare for more rain on Tuesday!
Monday will offer a brief reprieve, clearing skies and highs around 60 degrees. However, brace yourself for a stronger cold front arriving on Tuesday. By week's end, temperatures will plummet back into the 30s and 40s. Thursday and Friday will feel exceptionally chilly as temperatures dip back into the 20s and 30s. Stay informed and be ready for the changing weather!
