Another wave of winter weather will impact Colorado mountains Saturday afternoon, dumping as much as a foot and a half of snow in areas above 10,000 feet, according to the National Weather Service. Flakes will continue to fall overnight into Sunday afternoon and let up briefly before more heavy, blowing snow impacts travel through the mountains Sunday night. Colorado’s Avalanche Information Center continues to warn against backcountry travel and skiing in many popular ski areas due to the risk of avalanches driven by fresh snow and strong winds. Denver can expect some clouds but no snow this weekend, with highs of 53 and 59 forecast Saturday and Sunday, followed by a cool, breezy week.
