The man was identified as 26-year-old Jeremy Raul Sanchez of Fresno.
According to police, Sanchez's parole officer stopped by his home on Tuesday afternoon. During the visit, officers say a physical altercation took place.
Around 12:30 p.m. police say they were alerted to a three-round shot spotter on the 300 block on West Cortland Avenue - the same block as Sanchez's home.
Officers found Sanchez and he was provided medical aid - but was pronounced dead at the scene.
