StormTracker 8: Showers Saturday; Rain, maybe a thunderstorm Sunday
Dec 27, 2024
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A few showers will be tonight and it will be milder than the past couple of nights with our overnight lows near 40.
Showers will be around Saturday morning but taper to some spotty showers during the afternoon. It will be a mild day with highs in the middle to upper 50s.
Even milder weather will slide in for Sunday ahead of our next batch of rain, as our high temperatures climb into the middle 60s. I expect the rain to begin after 2:00 p.m. and we might even have a couple of rumbles of thunder. Some of that rain might come down locally heavy at times Sunday afternoon and evening and we could pick up between one to two inches of rain across central Virginia.
Partly sunny skies will return for Monday, and it will remain very mild with highs in the middle to upper 60s.
Another weather system will approach us for Tuesday which is New Year's Eve Day and that'll bring us the chance of showers with highs in the middle 50s.
Showers are possible as we ring in the new year with temperatures near 50 around midnight.
New Year's Day should be partly sunny with highs 50 to 55.
Looking ahead to the end of the first week of 2025 we will see partly sunny skies for Thursday and Friday with highs in the middle to upper 40s.
