NORWALK, Conn. (WPRI) — The Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk is now home to a Linne's two-toed sloth who has ties to the Ocean State. Jeffrey, who was born at Roger Williams Park Zoo last year, moved to Connecticut earlier this year. He is the first sloth to ever live at the Norwalk aquarium. Dylan Salamone, a senior mammal trainer at the aquarium, said Jeffrey has his own mobile perch, which allows him to explore his environment while also giving guests a chance to interact with him. Jeffrey has been at the aquarium for a couple of months now and bunks with two tamarin monkeys in the Just Add Water exhibit on the second floor. He's no stranger to sharing a space with other species, since he used to roam freely in the Faces of the Rainforest exhibit at Roger Williams Park Zoo alongside his mother Fiona, as well as a family of golden tamarins and a variety of tropical birds. Salamone said when Jeffrey isn't out on his mobile perch, he's likely taking a snooze in his basket. Close Thanks for signing up! Watch for us in your inbox.
