NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Dense fog and heavy storms are expected to create hazardous conditions across parts of Louisiana and Mississippi overnight and into Saturday. Dense fog is becoming widespread across the region, with visibility dropping to a quarter mile or less in some areas. A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect until 10 a.m. Saturday, urging drivers to use caution during the morning commute. Looking ahead, Saturday is shaping up to be an active weather day, with the potential for severe storms during the evening and overnight. A strong storm system is expected to move through the area, bringing heavy rain, strong winds, and the possibility of tornadoes, particularly north of the Interstate 12 corridor. Some storms could be long-tracked, meaning they may travel considerable distances while maintaining their strength. Conditions will improve late Saturday night as a cold front sweeps through, clearing out storms and bringing cooler, calmer weather for Sunday and Monday. Highs over the weekend will range from the upper 60s to mid-70s, with lows in the 50s.
