HONOLULU (KHON2) -- The Maui Humane Society has been awarded a $50,000 grant from national nonprofit Petco Love to enhance its efforts to save and improve the lives of pets on Maui. Get Hawaii's latest morning news delivered to your inbox, sign up for News 2 You The funding will be used to upgrade the shelter’s small animal housing, improving care for rabbits, guinea pigs, turtles, and other small animals. Petco Love has invested nearly $400 million in lifesaving efforts since its founding in 1999. They partner with over 4,000 organizations across North America to help find homes for pets. Through its initiatives, the nonprofit has helped over 6.9 million pets find loving families.
