(KRON) -- Four teenage girls, one as young as 13 years old, were arrested last week after allegedly stealing thousands of dollars in merchandise from a Marin County shopping center and fleeing in an Uber, according to the Central Marin Police Authority.
Police responded to Town Center Corte Madera on Dec. 20 at 6:30 p.m. on the report of an in-progress retail theft. A store employee told officers that four people were filling large bags with fragrance and cosmetic products, clearing out shelves of merchandise in the process.

The suspects, later determined to be three 15-year-old girls and one 13-year-old girl, all from Oakland, fled from the shopping center in an Uber that they had ordered, authorities said. The Uber getaway vehicle was spotted by officers driving north on Highway 101 and pulled over.
Stolen merchandise totaling approximately $7,500 was recovered and the four teen girls were arrested, police said. The suspects were booked into Marin County Juvenile Hall for organized retail theft and their parents or guardians were called.
