(KRON) – A person was fatally shot in Oakland on Thursday, according to the Oakland Police Department. Oakland police officers responded to the 1100 block of Foothill Boulevard around 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Upon arrival, officers found a victim who sustained a gunshot wound(s).  ReStore Oakland hosting inaugural ‘Free Furniture Friday’ Paramedics also responded to the scene, however, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The identity of the victim will be withheld until the next of kin is notified, according to OPD.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the OPD Homicide Section at (510) 238-3821 or the tip line at (510) 238-7950.
